Als "Versus de Gregorio et Ottone Augusto" bekannter Text. Wie die Anrede (1.1) zeigt, handelt es sich hier um ein förmliches Schreiben des kaiserlichen Logotheten (Regierungssprechers) Leo an den Papst. Kernpunkt ist die Aufforderung "Jahrhunderte zu erschaffen"(10.3). Der erste, sowie die beiden letzten Buchstaben im erhaltenen Pergaments am Wort "purgat" zeigen Rasurspuren. Das ursprüngliche Wort muss demnach "surget" (erschafft) gewesen sein.

In any case, the importance of psychological effects cannot be denied. For this reason, it seems safer if measurement and evaluation of results are not done by one and the same person."
